Lara Del Faye
Style junkie and literature addict discovering fashionable delights and celebrating women in literature and the arts.
What do you do with a BA in English? I spent three years at University College London alternating between Doc Martens and ballet shoes, drinking gin before they served it in Wetherspoons and reading books written by dead white men; it was fantastic. Since graduating in Vivienne Westwood heels I’ve gone on to work with Roksanda Ilincic, Schon! magazine, the British Fashion Council and the Financial Times. I’ve been scuttling around assisting at the Scottish Fashion Awards and Marios Schwab, Roksanda Ilincic and Fashion Scout’s London Fashion Week shows, and written for Noctis, Spindle, Schon! and The F Word to name a few. I’ve traveled to 25 countries across Europe, the Middle East and Central America, but always return to London with all the ardour of a long-lost lover. I spend my time reading books by incredible female writers, and celebrating the work of female artists, playwrights, poets, makers and creators; it’s fantastic.
By day I wear purple lipstick and get up to editorial antics at the Financial Times’ How To Spend It magazine, by night I wear oversized glasses and curate sartorial, literary and cultural fuel for kick ass women of style and substance.
