Unicorn; Uniporn

It’s here, it’s finally here. The digital equivalent of a stocking full of presents on Christmas morning, today Apple treated us to a new collection of emojis, and like a toddler in a flurry of Santa-print wrapping paper, the internet lost its mind. The new emojis included tacos, middle fingers and unicorns, yes, unicorns. Don’t act like you haven’t dreamed of this moment, you’ve probably already spammed your entire address book with at least three unicorns, and you’re not alone. In celebration of long-awaited arrival of the unicorn emoji, I’m rounding up the top five in unicorn style porn.

Unicorn Tears

Where there’s a craze for digital kitsch, one of my ultimate accessories brand, Skinny Dip London, is certain to be found near the scene of the crime (if you’ve ever spend half of your holiday money at their tantilising concession at Gatwick airport, you’ll know what I’m talking about). Their unicorn tears bag marries our love for unicorns, glitter, rainbows and Americana in a bag so dizzyingly sweet that it’s the accessories equivalent of a sugar rush.

Piers Atkinson My Little Pony

Piers Atkinson is man who’s turned occasion headwear from classic and conservative to covetably cool. Reinventing millinery before our eyes, he’s championed kitsch-cool before even Urban Dictionary knew what a ‘cutester’ was. The Pom-Pom trend that’s erupted this season? Piers got there first. Unicorns? Yep, he’s already done it. His unicorn cap might have sold-out across Selfridges and Net-A-Porter but he’s still in the game for unicorn-inspired hats for SS16. His My Little Pony caps, adorned with real pastel coloured ponies cavorting over the brim, may not strictly speaking be unicorns, but when headwear looks like cute, no one’s debating the details.

Vivienne Westwod Anglomania Unicorn

Vivienne Westwood needs no introduction. What Chanel is to Paris, Westwood is to London and  every design she touches turns to instantly covetable gold. When the Grand Dame of British style pronounced that cobalt blue unicorns were the order of the day, we could only weep tears of unmitigated joy. And if the recycled handles and ethical fashion credentials weren’t enough, this unicorn is cheerfully pooping a trail of Westwood orbs. Magic.

Kiss This Unicorn

It’s the slogan sweater Sunday brunches were for. Kiss This knows that not even the most ardent of unicorn lovers can face metallic glitter and rainbows, offering us a understated grey sweater that will slip a slice of unicorn love into even the most understated of wardrobes.  Accessorise your avocado toast and flat white (okay, poached eggs and bottomless Bloody Mary’s) with this ‘when I grow up I want to be a beautiful unicorn’ slogan, and you’ll have just won at adult-ing.

Unicorn Slippers

Late nights re-reading your new book until sunrise? Mid-week wine and cheese nights? Netflix and chill or Netflix and seriously-I’m-watching-this? There’s only one thing that could possibly make these even better. And that’s unicorns. On your feet. Yes, that’s right, unicorn slippers, with pastel coloured fluff-fur and glittery sliver horn. ASOS have done it again, this is unicorn uni-porn at its finest, resistance is futile.
